Full-time degree students

This page provides information to students currently undertaking one of the following full-time degree programmes with ifs University College

BSc (Hons) Banking Practice and Management

BSc (Hons) Finance Investment and Risk

BSc (Hons) Finance and Accounting for Financial Services

Programmes of study

All of the above programmes continue to run as planned. The change of name has no impact on the name, content, duration, assessment or structure of these programmes. Students on these programmes will continue their studies as normal and need to take no action.

Student Loans

We have informed the Student Loans Company (SLC).  Full time students in receipt of funding do not need to take any action.

Visas

We have informed UK Visa Immigration (UKVI). International students who are being sponsored by us do not need to take any action. 

Awarding body

It is a requirement that the awarding body on a student’s certificate should be the name of the institution in force at the time of the assessment board which awards the qualification. 

This means that some current students will receive an ifs University College award while others will receive their award from the London Institute of Banking & Finance. However, to minimise any difficulties for students and prevent any confusion for employers as a result of this transition, certificates for students affected will carry a reference to link the new and old names.   

These arrangements are set out in the table below:

Students who were awarded before 15 September 2016.

(i.e. Current 3rd year students – this includes any who need to resit an element of their final assessment as the re-sit exam board takes place on 14 September 2016) 

Awarding Body:

ifs University College

Reference on certificate:
From 15 September 2016 ifs University College will be known as The London Institute of Banking & Finance’

Students who registered on their current awards before 15 September 2016 but will complete after 15 September 2016 (i.e. current 1st and 2nd year students) 

Awarding Body:
The London Institute of Banking & Finance

Reference on certificate:

‘Formerly known as ifs University College’

Students who register for an  award after 15 September 2016 

Awarding Body:

The London Institute of Banking & Finance

Reference on certificate:

None
