Programmes of study

All of the above programmes will continue to run as planned. However, we have recently launched a new professional qualifications framework and introduced a new suite of qualifications in banking that replace the part-time undergraduate programmes listed above for new students.

If you are already studying with us on a Higher Education (HE) award we will have written to you with information about the new Professional Qualifications Framework and the option to transfer. If you wish to transfer from your HE award to the new Professional Qualifications Framework, we will ask you to complete a transfer application form and sign a declaration. We will also need to speak to you about your application to ensure that you make the right study decision.

Please email our Student and Customer Services teams if you wish to transfer to the Professional Qualifications Framework.

Corporate sponsors and employers

If your studies are sponsored by your employer you may wish to inform them of the name change. Of course, as far as possible we have communicated the news to all of our corporate partners and clients too.

Awarding body – ifs University College awards

It is a requirement that the awarding body on a student’s certificate should be the name of the institution in force at the time of the assessment board which awards the qualification.

This means that some current students will receive an ifs University College award while others will receive their award from the London Institute of Banking & Finance. However, to avoid any confusion for students or employers as a result of this transition, certificates for students affected will carry a reference to link the new and old names.

These arrangements are set out in the table below:

Students who were awarded before 15 September 2016

Awarding Body: ifs University College

Reference on certificate:

'From 15 September 2016 ifs University College will be known as The London Institute of Banking & Finance'

Students who registered on their current award before 15 September 2016 but will complete after 15 September 2016

Awarding Body:

The London Institute of Banking & Finance

Reference on certificate:

'Formerly known as ifs University College'

Students who register for an award after 15 September 2016

 Awarding Body:

The London Institute of Banking & Finance

Reference on certificate:

None

Awarding body - University of Kent awards

Students currently undertaking a University of Kent award will receive their award under that name irrespective of completion date. References on certificates regarding our new name will be confirmed shortly.
