Programmes of study

All of the above programmes continue to run as planned. The change of name has no impact on the title, content, duration, assessment or structure of these programmes. Students on these programmes should continue their studies as normal and need to take no further action.

Corporate sponsors and employers

If your studies are sponsored by your employer you may wish to inform them of the name change. Of course, as far as possible we have communicated the news to all of our corporate partners and clients too.

Awarding body – ifs University College awards

It is a requirement  that the awarding body on a student’s certificate should be the name of the institution in force at the time of the exam board which awards the qualification. 

This means that some current students will receive an ifs University College award while others will receive their award from the London Institute of Banking & Finance.  However to avoid any confusion for students or employers as a result of this transition, certificates for students affected will carry a reference to link the new and old names.  

These arrangements are set out in the table below:

Students who were awarded before 15 September 2016

 Awarding Body:

ifs University College

Reference on certificate:

'From 15 September 2016 ifs University College will be known as The London Institute of Banking & Finance

Students who registered on their current award before 15 September 2016 but will complete after 15 September 2016

 Awarding Body:

The London Institute of Banking & Finance 

Reference on certificate: 

'Formerly known as ifs University College' 

Students who register for an award after 15 September 2016

Awarding Body: 

The London Institute of Banking & Finance
