More than a hundred students were conferred with honours at the annual ifs University College Graduation and Presentation Ceremony.

The ceremony, which is held every year at Guildhall in London, recognises and celebrates ifs University College students' academic achievements and hard work throughout the course of their studies.

The 2015 ceremony saw ifs University College’s second cohort of full-time undergraduate students graduate alongside the many part time students who completed their qualifications this year, following the gaining of taught-degree awarding powers in 2011.

Two special guests joined the proceedings, representing two very different career stages in the financial services industry. Receiving an Honorary Degree, was Handelsbanken UK CEO, Anders Bouvin, who spoke at length on the need for today’s graduates to always adhere to the highest of professional standards, while Saajid Patel, who graduated in 2014, returned in his capacity as Alumni Ambassador and urged his fellow students to “follow the experience, not the success”.

Saziye Ibrahim, who graduated at the ceremony, having completed her full-time BSc (Hons) degree in Banking Practice & Management, said:

Graduation is the culmination of mine and my fellow students’ hard work and it’s a privilege to be celebrating today. Studying at ifs University College was definitely the right decision for me as the support I’ve received and experience I’ve gained will allow me to take the skills I’ve learned into my career.

Gaining my degree has really opened doors for me and I’ve already managed to secure a full-time role since completing my studies.”
