ifs University College will help showcase the breadth of the UK’s capability in professional financial education as part of a delegation to Beijing, Shanghai and Guangzhou in March 2016.
The campaign is being co-ordinated by the Department for Business Innovation & Skills and UK Trade & Investment which will host a programme of events designed to foster closer links between financial and educational institutions in China and leading financial education providers in the UK.
As part of the delegation, ifs University College will attend a series of briefings, presentations and round-tables with a number of high-profile stakeholders, including the People’s Bank of China, the State Administration of Foreign Experts Affairs and the China Banking Association.
Martin Day, Vice Principal at ifs University College, who will be representing the organisation throughout the initiative said:
“We have been providing professional education to the financial services industry for more than 130 years and it is testament to the esteem in which our qualifications are held that we have been invited to join this important delegation.
“The Chinese financial services industry is growing in terms of size, sophistication and global influence so is hugely important for the world economy. Through our existing distance learning programmes we have already seen the level of interest and passion that exists among Chinese students studying finance-related subjects and we hope to be able to support the sector further as a result of relationships established through this programme.”
