The LiFE Award provides a good basic understanding of money and finance. It has been developed based on the key areas that, as a minimum, children and young people should know in order to be confident and competent in their financial experiences. These areas include how to use appropriate tools to manage a personal budget and to make informed financial decisions.
On completion of the Award students will also be able to demonstrate numeracy skills, including the ability to manipulate financial and other numerical data (such as calculating the costs of borrowing and spending).
They will learn to understand principles of money, how to manage money and the ways of keeping money safe.
Students will have the opportunity to work back through any area or topic from the LiFE Foundation platform, in any order to revise and prepare for this assessment.
