Certificate in Long Term Care Insurance (CeLTCI®)

The Certificate in Long-Term Care Insurance meets the regulatory requirement for advising on long-term care and develops the knowledge and practical application of the different types of long-term care insurance.

About the qualification

CeLTCI is a highly relevant qualification for an increasingly important area of advice, enabling you to develop expertise and offer another service to clients. CeLTCI is suitable for both experienced and newly qualified advisers and is also highly relevant for those advising on equity release products.

In order to attain the Certificate in Long-Term Care Insurance, students must also hold the Diploma for Financial Advisers (DipFA®)  or an equivalent Level 4 qualification.

The Certificate in Long Term Care Insurance is a Level 3 qualification registered with Ofqual in the Regulated Qualification Framework (RQF).

CeLTCI consists of one unit and the full Diploma for Financial Advisers (DipFA), or equivalent Level 4 qualification.

Unit 1 - Long-Term Care Insurance (LTCI)

You will have online access to study texts immediately after registration has been completed and hard copies will also be provided. The study text contains review questions and activities to support your learning.
A specimen paper is also available to purchase.

40 study hours are recommended for the LTCI unit.


The LTCI unit is assessed through a 2-hour objective exam comprising 80 multiple-choice questions.

The exam can be taken at over 150 Pearson VUE centres nationwide with the result provided on the day.
