The decision to change the name of ifs University College to The London Institute of Banking & Finance was taken with the interests of our students as a paramount consideration.


We spoke to students from across our range of programmes as part of our strategy review and it became clear that the introduction of a new name would be beneficial - not just to the organisation in helping it to achieve its new vision - but also to existing, past and future students in gaining the recognition they deserve for their studies.

We believe that the new name benefits students in a number of ways:

  • It helps our students' current and future employers recognise the highly relevant, professional and applied nature of the programmes they have undertaken with us   
  • It enables prospective and current students, and their potential employers to understand our remit, our style of learning and the experience of studying with us
  • It helps us raise the profile of our organisation still further, which in turn benefits  students who are studying or have completed our qualifications
