Simon has three decades of banking experience at Barclays, Tokai and UFJ banks working in international markets including syndicated loans, risk management, and heading European leverage finance & corporate banking teams at UFJ bank. He also led training activities at the Loan Market Association.

Tokai Bank and Barclays Bank (Various roles prior to 2002):

  • Head of credit department.
  • Senior Manager; credit analysis over lending operations in Central and Eastern Europe.
  • Led restructuring on stressed and distressed credits, including acting on workout committees.
  • Developed structure and initiated secondary debt trading of corporate paper at the inception of this market.
  • Credit analysis over UK project, property & MBO financing.
  • UK investment grade corporate credit analysis.
