Gerard Lemos CMG is currently Chair of English Heritage and of His Majesty’s Prison and Probation Service. He is a former Chair of the Council of University of York and trustee of University of London. In financial services he has been chair of UKFinance’s Payments Products and Services Board, PaymentsUK, Payments Council, Money Advice Service and Lending Standards Board.
He is also the author of many books on social policy including The End of the Chinese Dream: Why Chinese people fear the future which was a Sunday Times Christmas book. He has written for the New York Times, BBC and the Guardian.
