There are also a couple of round-table discussions at the end of the day hosted by our own Sustainability Subject Leaders, and featuring experts in the field. One of the topics under debate will be the UN’s Partnerships engagement for the Sustainable Development Goals, which features 17 goals and at the time of writing, 1,757 initiatives. For an overview of goals, see <a un-sd-goals---handrails.pdf?sfvrsn="2''">this document, and for more information, read this: https://sustainabledevelopment.un.org/partnerships
The concept of this symposium is to engender understanding of the subject and provide resources for interested parties. Of course, KnowledgeBank provides resources in abundance. We have the Sustainability Toolkit, which is populated by resource type (glossary, e-books, video lessons, briefings, etc.) and by subject (Financial environment, Investment and risk management, Law, lending and insurance, and Marketing and management). It is well worth looking through these resources, whether you’re new to the subject or require some deeper understanding. Of course, our regular resources prove to be fruitful too, if you’re looking to expand your knowledge. For example, EBSCO’s Business Source Corporate Plus database of e-journals has more than 38,000 full text articles if you search for ""sustainable development"", while Henry Stewart Talks has a seminar from the influential John Elkington: <a ?t="MM1172785''">Sustainability and corporate environmental management, amongst others. If you need any assistance with the KB resources, you can always drop us a line, or visit our help desk if you’re in Lovat Lane on these dates: http://kb.ifslearning.ac.uk/library-support/KnowledgeBank-help-desk
If you’re attending, we hope you enjoy the day, challenge your own thinking and learn something new. If you’re not, follow the conference on social media with #SustSym and check out our resources.
