10 May, 2016

ifs University College Head of Careers Nadim Choudhury has appeared on Share Radio to discuss job satisfaction in light of a new report.

Following the publication of a report by the Chartered Institute of Professional Development (CIPD), which reveals that job satisfaction in the UK is at its lowest level for two years, Nadim Choudhury, Head of Careers at ifs appeared on Share Radio’s “<a ?proid="93691378-c1bf-457b-a083-5131e075aa29''">Shop Floor” show on Sunday to discuss the findings and to offer advice on how to boost work-place well-being.

During the interview, Nadim spoke at length about the findings and how he “wasn’t surprised” at the findings of the report.

Identifying one of the main problems, Nadim said that organisations are still not realising that career management needs to be done differently.

“People want to work longer”, Nadim said, “but there is no career progression available to them. HR functions need to take a drastic look at how they manage their employees’ careers”. But this isn’t just setting out a structured career path, but “understanding individuals and their values, allowing them to integrate aspects of their lives into the workplace”.
