Yet the same banks continue to shut lossmaking or scarcely profitable branches, with no end in sight to their closure programmes...These banks cite the digital revolution to justify their retreat from bricks-and-mortar banking, so it may seem strange, that digital technology may be the best hope for the long-term survival of bank branches.
