Blackburn College student Grace Hyer has achieved an absolutely outstanding result in The London Institute of Banking and Finance Certificate in Financial Studies (LIBF).
The 20 year old student is studying Level 3 Extended Diploma in Business with Accounting and is amongst the top performing 1% of students in the country.
“I was so shocked to hear that I was in the top 1%” Grace said. “It’s amazing as I have worked really hard.”
“My tutors at Blackburn College have really supported me, especially in allowing me to study the financial studies qualification alongside the Level 3 qualification.
The LIBF qualification is equal to an A-Level so it should really help me in applying to University.”
What a star
Tutor Ann Marsh said “Grace is an absolute star – when she started studying she lacked confidence but throughout the programme she has grown into a mature young lady with a very bright future ahead of her."

The LIBF Certificate and Diploma is assessed through a 100% exam structure and is an additional qualification, in addition to the Level 3 Extended Diploma in Business Blackburn College offer a number of financial qualifications and focus on delivering highly relevant programmes for students wishing to pursue careers within the financial services sector.
“I really enjoyed studying banking” Grace added. “I would love to pursue a career within investments and savings in the future.”
2017 has been a fantastic year for Blackburn College, with a 100% A – Level Pass rate in 18 subjects and a 7% increase in A-Level A* to C Grades.
