The year ahead in digital banking and fintech

26 January, 2022Digital Webinar
2021 was an exciting and eventful year in the development of digital banking and fintech.

All sorts of new players, products, services and business models emerged while more established firms continued to fundraise and expand. Some digital banking initiatives soared, others fell by the wayside and some pivoted to new propositions entirely.

In the latest webinar from our Centre for Digital Banking and Finance, we were joined by members of our expert faculty, who are working at the coal face of these new developments, to discuss what 2022 might hold for the digital banking and fintech sector.

We asked them to predict what the next 'big thing' will be in fintech, who they thought the winners and losers would be and for their views on what we might see from the incumbent banks and institutions in response.

Finally we discussed the big question of whether the continued expansion of the sector, and the funding its attracting, could possibly last or if we may be heading for a significant contraction in the months to come.
