Graduation tickets

You are welcome to bring as many guests as you like. Ticket prices are listed on the Book your tickets page.

The London Institute of Banking & Finance cannot provide an invitation to your guests as proof that they are travelling to your ceremony.

We can however produce a letter that states that you have been invited to attend a graduation presentation, and that you are able to bring guests with you to the ceremony. To enquire for a letter, please complete this form (Excel) and email it through to graduation@libf.ac.uk

Preparing for your graduation ceremony

The ceremony takes place on Friday 13 September 2019 at London's Guildhall, Gresham Street, London, EC2V 7HH.

Students are eligible to attend the ceremony if they have completed a Professional Higher Education qualification in 2017/18, are a CDCS® Advocate or if they have previously deferred their graduation from an earlier finishing period. 

If you have completed more than one qualification your name will appear in the souvenir brochure under each qualification but you will only go on stage once for the higher qualification. 

Unfortunately, this is the only ceremony taking place this year. You can defer your graduation until next year's ceremony; this must be agreed in advance with the Events team.

Yes, you must register and complete all details online by Friday 24 August 2018 to secure your place. If you do not submit the online form by the deadline we cannot guarantee you a place at the ceremony.

You will need to order your gown from Ede & Ravenscroft. It is optional to pre-book a photography package on their website.


Academic dress is compulsory for all students with the exception of CDCS Advocates, Level 6 Diploma in Financial Advice students and Professional Diploma in Banking & Finance students. Orders must be made no later than Friday 24 August 2018 from Ede & Ravenscroft. It is recommended if you are wearing a gown that you wear a button through top or shirt which will help you to attach the academic hood to your clothing without pins. If academic dress is not required, you should wear business attire.

Please advise a member of the Events team in advance if you or your guests have any specific access requirements or need any assistance, so we can help you on the day.  


On graduation day

The Guildhall is located in the heart of the City of London. The address is Gresham Street, London, EC2V 7HH.

You should allow plenty of time before the ceremony commences to register, collect your gown, be photographed and make your way to the Great Hall. Registration on the day will be between 10.15am and 10.45am. Student will be advised to make their way to the Great Hall at 11.15am. All students must be seated in the Great Hall by 11.45am. Admission to the Hall will close 15 minutes before the ceremony start time, no student or guest will be allowed entry after this time.

You will be able to collect your gown from the West Crypt at the Guildhall on the day of the Graduation and Presentation Ceremony. You will be directed by staff and signage to gowning after you register.

A limited number of gowns will be available to hire on the day and there will be an additional charge for orders made on the day.

There is a cloakroom available free of charge. Please visit the cloakroom prior to gowning and photography.

Your student seat is reserved. You will be assigned the seat number that corresponds to the order in which you appear in the programme.

Guest seating is unallocated and operates on a first come, first served basis. There will be seats for everyone with a ticket.

Please arrange to meet your guests in the Old Library.

Yes, in the toilets on the basement level.

You are welcome to take photographs throughout the day, including during the ceremony. The grounds and local sights are also great photo opportunities.

There will be an opportunity to have professional photographs taken by Ede & Ravenscroft before the ceremony. Details of pricing for their packages can be found on their website

Yes, Ede & Ravenscroft photographers will be happy to do so. There are a variety of photography packages available. These can be pre-booked through their website or can be purchased on the day. 

Refreshments will be available to students and their guests before the ceremony. There will also be a congratulatory drinks reception and a traditional afternoon tea that includes an array of cakes, sandwiches and finger foods. All refreshments will be served in the Old Library and are complimentary for students and included in the ticket price for guests.

No, it is not compulsory to attend, but we ask that you accept or decline your invitation.

Smart dress is required for all guests attending Graduation e.g. a suit or shirt and trousers for men, and smart skirt/trousers and blouse or dress for women. Please advise your guests not to wear jeans or trainers.
