Helene Panzarino, Fintech Programme Director, The London Institute of Banking & Finance
Helene is the Director of the FinTech Programme for the LIBF Digital Banking Centre. Originally a commercial banker, Helene is an experienced fintech 'sherpa', programme director, exited entrepreneur, educator and author. Leading the Banking and Fintech Partnership at Vacuumlabs, she takes community banks to the digital future by connecting them to the fintech of the present.
She is the former managing director of the global Rainmaking Colab FinTech Programme - a world-first, post-accelerator programme for series A+ fintechs and tier ones. Helene was also responsible for the Inaugural Programme of Education and Events for Innovate Finance.
Passionate about education, in addition to her work at LIBF, Helene is Lead Fellow and creator on a world-first FinTech Pathway in a Masters in Tech Entrepreneurship Degree at University College London (UCL), and co-creator and delivery partner on the Imperial College FinTech Exec Ed Programme.
Olivier Beroud, Founder, Centre for Governance, Risk and Regulation, LIBF
Olivier has over 30 years' experience in rating agencies and banking. As part of his wide consulting activities, he sits on several boards and advises a variety of finance sector organisations and pension funds on risk and corporate governance matters.
Until 2016 he was managing director, Head of EMEA for Moody's, based in London. In that capacity, Olivier was responsible for the rating agency's strategy and operations. Before that he was a managing director in Moody's corporate ratings business and ran Barclays Banks Plc's Ratings Advisory Group from 2006 to 2011.
Olivier has an MBA from City University Business School, London and a degree from L'Institut Supérieur de Gestion, Paris.
Rob Thompson, Head of Banking Services, The London Institute of Banking & Finance
Rob has worked for LIBF for 20 years and is currently the Head of Banking Services within the Professional Education team. Prior to this, he worked for NatWest bank in their retail operations department.
His role is primarily responsible for all of LIBF's banking relationships and promoting the wider uptake of the professional qualifications and training programmes. Rob has studied a number of the LIBF programmes, achieving the Level 5 Professional Diploma in Banking & Finance in 2018. He's currently studying towards the Level 6 Advanced Diploma in Banking & Finance and chartered status.
Rob worked for HSBC on secondment to help them rollout the LIBF's Retail Banking certificate to their branch network in 2013 and has also managed a number of the LIBF's overseas partnerships including the Isle of Man, ifs Malta and the Kuwait Institute of Bankers.
Vera Spender Koubek, Visiting Professor
Vera was a management consultant and a programme leader for 15 years. She has a track record of delivering multi-million-pound international programmes focused on business transformation and technology-driven change in Financial Services, in the UK, EU and Russia.
The financial crisis in 2008 made Vera interested in complex systems and she has subsequently broadened her qualification to work as a sustainability consultant and adviser. For the last eight years, Vera has been co-operating with higher education and further education institutions, developing and leading courses on topics in business, finance, and transformation for sustainability. Vera is a founder and a trustee of a children's charity.
