Hussain Haider, Head of Trade Finance, Alubaf
Hussain Haider has over 17 years of experience in the field of trade finance with Banks in Bahrain. He joined Alubaf in 2021. Before joining Alubaf, he served as a Manager in the Trade Finance department in HBL Bahrain and the Export team in HSBC. Hussain is a Qualified Trade Finance Specialist (QTFS) and has achieved the Certificate in Trade Finance Compliance (CTFC), Certificate for Documentary Credit Specialists (CDCS) and holds the Certificate in International Trade and Finance (CITF). He also holds different diploma degrees in Commercial Studies from the University of Bahrain and Banking Studies Diploma from Bahrain Institute in Banking and Finance (BIBF).
Doaa El Atawy is an Egyptian banker with 30 years of banking experience in local and multinational banks. She has worked in various services of trade finance as well as commercial and retail banking operations. Her most recent role is Trade Finance Operations Head at EGBANK. She is a Qualified Trade Finance Specialist (QTFS) and has achieved the Certificate in International Trade and Finance (CITF), Certificate in Supply Chain Finance (CSCF) and Certificate in Trade Finance Compliance (CTFC). She is also a Certificate of Documentary Credit Specialist (CDCS) Advocate, having achieved five complete recertifications cycles of CDCS.
Alex Gray, Director of Trade & Transaction Banking at LIBF started his career at HSBC as an International Manager in 1989. He has held both sales and operations roles in trade in Singapore, India, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Canada and the UK. His last role with HSBC was as Head of Trade Services for the UK's Trade Operations, where he was part of the team that developed the AML programme for trade prior to the visit from the Department of Justice Monitor. Alex also worked for Santander and subsequent to leaving he developed and delivered a trade based financial crime workshop programme to the entire UK Corporate Bank. In addition to his work for LIBF Alex has his own consultancy business, Gray Bay Consultants Ltd, which currently sees him focused on work for Complidata, a fintech that specialises in document and compliance checking for trade documents, where he gets to collaborate with the author of CDCS, Gary Collyer.
