Understanding the impact of longevity risk in financial services: the role of artificial intelligence in navigating and transforming the nexus of technology and demography in financial services.

As life expectancy continues to increase in many of the world's advanced economies, the acknowledgment of and planning for the financial risks associated with people living longer - longevity risk - in both the public and private sectors, have not kept pace.

  • Are we sleepwalking into a crisis in fiscal sustainability or is there still time to take offensive action and avoid the unanticipated financial consequences of increasing life expectancy but not necessarily increased productivity?
  • What role do governments, funds, educators, and fintechs have to play in bringing about effective solutions that can be implemented swiftly and safely at scale?
  • Could the use and integration of the transformative power of artificial intelligence (AI) emerge as a powerful ally in navigating this complex challenge?
  • Could AI help shed new light on risk, investments, asset management, and the creation and delivery of new products and services in wealth management?
