What is a postgraduate degree?

A postgraduate degree is designed to provide you with a deeper expertise in a specific field. At postgraduate level, you build on foundational knowledge gained during an undergraduate degree or equivalent work experience. A postgraduate degree aims to equip you with the skills and confidence to excel in the modern world of work or to pursue further research opportunities.

On average, a postgraduate degree usually takes one year to complete. However, everyone's journey is unique. At LIBF, you can study full-time over one year, or spread out your learning by studying part-time over 18 months or two years.

Many students take a postgraduate degree shortly after completing an undergraduate degree, to cement their knowledge and develop their specialised skillsets. At LIBF, whether you're transitioning directly from your undergraduate studies or returning to education after a break, our postgraduate degrees are accessible to all.

Is a master's degree a postgraduate degree?

A master's degree is a common postgraduate study option that allows students to specialise in a specific field or area of study. The term ‘master’s’ refers to the title of the postgraduate degree, such as Master of Arts (MA) or Master of Science (MSc). At LIBF, all our postgraduate courses are Master of Science courses.

Pursuing a master's degree can enhance career prospects, deepen knowledge in a chosen field, and provide opportunities for further academic and professional advancement.
