Maria is the Head of Faculty and Associate Professor at The London Institute of Banking & Finance. Her research is focused on corporate finance issues, particularly related to corporate bankruptcy, mergers & acquisitions, corporate restructuring, banking, and corporate governance. She previously taught at the Portuguese Catholic University, ISCTE, Portuguese Naval College, Maria Ulrich Higher Institute of Education, and more recently at Cass Business School, where she directed the BSc Banking & International Finance and BSc Finance, and was also the Exemptions Director for undergraduate programmes and Deputy Director at the Mergers & Acquisitions Research Centre.
Maria leads on the Corporate Finance module, teaches Research Methods and supervises dissertations on the MSc in Banking & Finance. She lectures on both the part-time and full-time delivery.
