About the qualification

This diploma takes a technical approach to learning, and will expose you to the different evaluation tools that identify borrowing requirements. When you have finished, you will be able to make the very best recommendations for your customers, as an expert in your field.

DipBB&C is ideal for you if you are already working in a Relationship Management role, as it covers critical relationship building and negotiation models. You will be able to relate your learning directly to your working practices through a case study that reflects customer lending scenarios, released six weeks before your exam.

If you currently have the CertBB&C or CertBB – you only need to complete one unit and are entitled to a reduced fee. This means you’re able to go straight to studying the third and final unit and enter the exam.

Units

If you have already completed CertBB&C or CertBB, then you only need to study and pass unit three to achieve the Diploma. 

Unit 1 – Principles of Business Banking (POBB)

  • The business banking environment and main types of products and solutions available
  • Principles of risk management and lending
  • Financial and non-financial analyses and their use in bank lending decisions
  • Warning signs and actions in response to bad customer debt
  • Business development activity and relationship management of customers
  • The complaints handling process

Unit 2 – Providing Solutions to Business Banking Customers (PSBB)

  • Using sources of information to inform decision making
  • Evaluation of customer needs and identifying appropriate solutions
  • Assessment of the level of security and the affordability and suitability of proposed solutions
  • Applying conduct of business rules to solutions

Unit 3 – Advanced Business and Commercial Banking & Conduct (ABBC)

  • Application of advanced credit and lending analysis models
  • The role of relationship managers as risk managers to promote responsible lending
  • Principles and processes of responsible and sustainable lending
  • Factors involved in lending decisions
  • Impacts of the key regulatory and legislative influences

Timetables 

You can register for one of the following study sessions throughout the year:

Assessment

 DipBB&C is assessed by a three-hour typed electronic exam, comprising of two sections:

  • Section A – a pre-release company information document will be made available six weeks before the exam and you will be asked to answer up to five questions relating to this
  • Section B – you will be asked to answer up to five questions

Your exam will be on a set date depending on which study session you join. Please refer to the timetable above for exam dates. You can choose to sit at a test centre or through remote invigilation at home.

You will have six months from when you register, to complete each module and sit the exam. Your first exam is included in the registration fee for each module.
