If you are from a European Economic Area (EEA) or Swiss national you do not need a visa to enter the UK to attend our Summer School. You will just need to show your passport on arrival in the UK.

If you are not an EEA or Swiss national, you may need to apply for a short-term study visa to enter the UK depending on which passport you hold. Further information can be found on GOV.UK.

A short-term study visa allows students over the age of 18 to study either part-time or full-time for up to 6 months in the UK.

If you do not need a visa you will still need to bring the following documents to show at the border in order to be admitted as a short-term student:

  • your passport
  • the letter from The London Institute of Banking & Finance, confirming that you are participating in the Summer School and details including fees and dates
  • evidence of funds to cover your period of stay in the UK and your journey to/from the UK

You can apply for a visa up to three months before your date of travel to the UK. Please check current visa processing times to find out how long getting a visa might take in the country you’re applying from.

It's also important to speak with your bank about using your card and spending money abroad.

We've organised a variety of networking events, tours and activities to help you get the most out of your stay in London.
