Autumn University 

Due to Covid-19 our Summer University is now taking place in autumn. 

Tuesday 27 - Wednesday 28 October 2020

Our Autumn University is a two day non-residential programme for students who are thinking about a career in financial services and are interested in studying the subject at university.

Why do it?

The Autumn University will give you an insight into the world of banking and finance. It will also introduce the various career paths available to you within financial services, and can help you think about whether a career in these areas is right for you. It is also an opportunity for you to experience university life in the City of London.

Who is it for?

We encourage you to apply for the Autumn University if you:

  • Will be a Year 12 or Year 13 student as of September 2020
  • Have five 9 to 4 grades at GCSE (or equivalent), including English and Maths
  • Have a broad interest in finance, economics and business
  • Are considering applying to university

How do I apply?

If you have already applied, your application will be reviewed and a member of the full-time programme team will be in touch with you and instruct you how to make online payments. 

You will then receive a confirmation email once the payment has been received.

What does it cost?

  • £50 per student
  • £25 per student currently studying the CeFS or DipFS

The course is non-residential, but refreshments and lunch are provided to students every day and the cost of materials and all excursions are covered within the course fee.

We are pleased to offer a limited number of bursaries that cover the full cost of the programme.  To qualify for this, you should meet two or more of the criteria below:

  • Be living in a POLAR4 area of quintile 1 or 2
  • Neither parent has attended higher education
  • You are in, or have been in, the care of the Local Authority
  • Receives free school meals

There are a limited number of bursaries available so applications will be reviewed on a first come, first served basis.

You will be introduced to the world of banking and finance through a series of exciting lectures with our expert academics as well as having the opportunity to meet and question key players from the industry, to find out what it really takes to have a successful career in this sector. Working with our academic team, you will develop your study skills while increasing your knowledge of progression routes into this fast-paced industry.
