Our academic and careers teams will be able to support you on your student and career journey and help you to become the perfect candidate for your chosen field.

BSc (Hons) in Banking & Finance

Learn the theory and practical skills needed to create an excellent foundation for the working world of financial services. As you progress, you’ll explore career paths in this sector and be able to tailor your learning to your chosen role.

BSc (Hons) in Finance, Investment & Risk

Throughout this course, you’ll study in a business-like environment and become familiar with the core elements of investments, analysis and risk management that will underpin the decisions you make throughout your career.

Placement year option

Both our degrees programmes can be studied across the standard three years, or four years if you’d like to do a year in industry placement. Don’t worry if you’re not sure – you don’t need to decide right away and can switch to the four-year course in your first year. Our Careers and Employability Service will be able to help you find and apply to placements if you need a helping hand.

Welcome programme

Welcome Week – 18 to 22 September 2023

Join us a week before your first term where we host Welcome Week for our first-year students. When you join LIBF, you join a community of students, alumni and professionals so this is a great chance to meet and interact with your peers, lecturers and support staff before you begin studying. This year’s Welcome Week will take place from Monday 18 September to Thursday 21 September 2023. For more information about key dates and studying with us, visit our Offer Holder page

What do our students say?

“It is a differentiating factor which puts me in front of other internal candidates when speaking with HR or managers [and] has accelerated my progress in the bank.”

LIBF alumni Robert Hudson Tucker, Handelsbanken UK

“I began reading the Financial Times, to which the university provide a subscription, and I even started trading myself. This is down to the influence of the students I am surrounded with here – the difference in ambition and industry knowledge is striking.”

LIBF alumni Millie Montague, Securities Analyst, Goldman Sachs
