What is an undergraduate degree?
Undergraduate degrees are the first stage of higher education. An undergraduate degree aims to develop your in-depth foundational knowledge in a specific field. Many students usually take their undergraduate degree after completing college in the UK, but you can study for one at any time in life – whenever it's right for you.
As well as developing your knowledge in a chosen field, undergraduate degrees also equip you with employability skills such as collaboration, communication, analytical thinking, and decision-making. The aim is to graduate equipped for the modern world of work or further study at postgraduate level.
An undergraduate degree usually takes three years of full-time study to complete. However, some degree providers also offer part-time undergraduate degrees. At LIBF, you can study our undergraduate degrees full-time for over three years or part-time for over four or five years.
Is a bachelor's degree an undergraduate degree?
Yes, a bachelor's degree is an undergraduate degree. In many countries, including the UK, the terms 'bachelor's degree' and 'undergraduate degree' are often used interchangeably.
The term 'bachelor's' refers to the title of the undergraduate degree, such as Bachelor of Arts (BA) or Bachelor of Science (BSc). At LIBF, all our undergraduate courses are Bachelor of Science courses.
