Academic year 2023 onwards
We recently announced that LIBF will begin withdrawing its school qualifications for new students with effect from September 2024*.
There will be no LIBF school qualifications available at the start of the September 2025 academic year, and no delivery of these qualifications in the academic year 2025/26 and beyond.
Students currently studying for LIBF qualifications will be able to continue their studies to completion, so won’t be disadvantaged.
The affected qualifications and the last registration dates are:
Lessons in Financial Education (LiFE) Award (LIFA): July 2024*
Lessons in Financial Education (LiFE) Certificate (LIFC): July 2025*
Level 1/2 Technical Award in Finance (TAF): November 2023*
Level 2 Award in Financial Education (AiFE): July 2024*
Level 2 Certificate in Financial Education (CeFE): July 2024* and May 2024 (AiFE top ups)
Level 2 Certificate in Financial Capability and Careers Development (CeFCCD) (Wales only): July 2024*
Level 3 Certificate in Financial Studies (CeFS): November 2023*
Level 3 Diploma in Financial Studies (DipFS): November 2024*
* the last registration timeline may be slightly different for each qualification.
Although these qualifications will no longer continue, students can be assured that CeFS/DipFS will remain eligible for UCAS points and so can be counted towards further study.
Please rest assured we will continue to support schools and students during the phase out of these qualifications and during that time qualifications will be delivered as normal. Our relationship managers and customer services team are here to help with administrative and logistical queries and will continue to support centres in the usual manner.
