About the qualification
CertLTCP is a specialised qualification designed for financial advisers looking to specialise in long-term care and later life planning. It covers the UK long-term care planning environment, including the responsibilities of the NHS and local authorities, long term care insurance and the financial assistance options available.
The qualification will equip you with the expertise required to offer later life financial planning, including how to analyse and evaluate clients' needs, understand how financial assessments are undertaken, how eligibility is assessed and the taxation and legal issues arising from different long term care planning solutions.
CertLTCP is intended for those working in the financial services sector who are looking to focus on long term care and later life finance. It can also count towards the specialist option unit of the Level 6 Diploma in Financial Advice (Adv DipFA), making it a good first step for Level 4-qualified financial advisers looking to enhance their qualifications.

Assessments
You can take exams at a test centre or at home with remote invigilation.
Your first exam is included in the registration fee for each module.
You'll receive a digital certificate once you have passed.
Regulation
This qualification is registered with Ofqual in the Regulated Qualifications Framework (RQF).
What study materials do I get?
The online study text is included in your registration fee and will be made available immediately after payment. At the end of each topic, the study text contains review questions and activities to support your learning. A specimen paper will also be provided to test your learning.

If you have qualifications from us or another awarding body, we may be eligible to apply for recognition of prior learning.

Assessment
CertLTCP is assessed by a two-hour exam consisting of:
60 multiple-choice questions
Three case studies, each with five linked multiple-choice questions.
You will have 12 months to complete and sit the exam. Your first exam is included in the registration fee for each module. If you wish to retake an exam, you will need to pay a resit fee.
