About the training programme

When the economy’s in flux, landlords and investors depend on solid advice from brokers.

So we’ve worked with the experts – the Financial Intermediary and Broker Association (FIBA) and Association of Short Term Mortgage Lenders (ASTL) – to devise training that will raise standards.

CPSP will consolidate and build your specialist property finance skills and knowledge, to help you work more effectively with brokers, lenders, solicitors and valuers.

You'll discover:

  • more about lender, broker and customer relationships
  • how to analyse lending propositions and structure suitable solutions and exit strategies
  • more about regulatory, compliance and fundamental business practices.

And once you’ve passed the exam, you’ll be awarded with a digital badge and a digital certificate so that you can easily demonstrate your professional expertise.

Specialist Property Finance

The unit analyses the market, its participants, process, associated costs and regulatory requirements in a largely unregulated sector.

It explores the processes required to manage the relationship between, lender, intermediary and consumer.

Through this, it will examine your understanding of the process of structuring and presenting proposals with due regard for best customer outcome.

Assessment

You’ll be assessed in a two-hour multiple-choice exam with:

  • a set of multiple choice questions (50 marks), and
  • four case studies, with five multiple-choice questions linked to each case study (20 marks).

You need to achieve at least 70% to pass and have 12 months from when you get access to the course material, to complete the unit and assessment.

You can choose when to take your exam and pick from test centres nationwide or through remote invigilation. You can decide whether you want centre based delivery or remote invigilation when you register for the examination.
